Ride with Confidence, Vigor, & Resilience.

Life is happier viewing it through a WINDSCREEN instead of your phone, laptop, or TV screen. One frees, exercises, and emboldens your mind, while the others torment it. Chase that dopamine, as Nomad souls we need it.

About Icarus Adventures

At Icarus we view motorcycles as kinetic, fire breathing, "art" which connects riders to the environment both on and off the machine. Wandering into showrooms gazing at new rides while making friends to discuss favorite roads and eateries is a way of life for many. I love searching for used hidden gems like 80's cafe racers and bobbers with analog instruments for nostalgia. I feel fulfillment, confidence, and overall wellness improve on days I ride verses 2-3 days when I don't. I know you feel it too.

Science reveals operating a motorcycle provides "exercise" for the brain. High-speed decision making, heightened reflexes, while operating multiple control surfaces and twisting your torso connects everything from your brain to your core. We do this vigorously while balancing the ultimate risk/reward conundrum seeking our dopamine fix.

Even a short ride can be the mental "reset" which disrupts our thoughts just enough to get grounded. For many like myself with adult ADHD we NEED to close that helmet visor to block out the world. ADHD'ers have "100 TABS OPEN" each requiring attention, and often at the same time. A ride simply wipes my anxiety clean and gets me back to center with only 2-3 tabs left open. I have successfully managed living with ADHD with no medication and I DO RIDE EVERY DAY, even if it is my ADV bike on the farm for a few laps. I will blog about what "Flow state" means and how top performers seek that for optimal performance in life in professional sports, including all racing disciplines.

"When my bike needs repairs I fix it, when I am broken my bike fixes me."

Now let's discuss the FUN we have planned for 2027+ with children and veterans involving sidecars and what we refer to as SideCar Smiles.™

We arrive at a children's group home with a sidecar overflowing with plushy stuffed animals ready to give the kids a parking lot party to brighten their day. Donations from local vendors of wrapped toys, candy, snacks or anything children of needs could use to enrich their lives. We are just getting started and finding our way but we have big hearts and ideas. Kids can hold little "Leo" the Dachshund perched upon Veronica's Honda Dax and go home with a photo. We had a mini-launch party here : Tanglewood Pizza Co. and people were very engaged and donated.

Our Treasurer Darrell is a Vietnam veteran and like us passionate about recognizing the commitment and service to our country these men and woman gave. We want to create the same energy at assisted living centers by permitting Veterans to hold an American flag for a "Freedom" lap in a sidecar while the other residents cheer them on. This is a great idea and we have a lot of support and energy for both of the above causes.

In keeping with our vision want this organization to stand on it's own merits so we are selling merchandise and soliciting donations to raise funds for insurance, a more "daily" driver sidecar which is easier for the less agile to climb in and out of. We are asking folks and businesses local to Eastern NC to think of who they know who might have means to support the cause. Please contact us with donations of unwrapped toys, overstock items like toiletries, gift cards to present staff so they can seek items they need onine.

The launch of our online presence hopes Icarus becomes a place to connect with other riders. It doesn't matter what you ride, as long as you are staring over or through a windscreen you "Get it." Motorcycle enthusiasts who share our passion for machines, riding, destinations, companionship and personal growth have a "Home" either online or in person. The ink on the page you are reading is barely dry as of 9-20-2026. We are just starting but we WILL have an online community where members can have a online IA account with a garage to showcase your rides, list your zip code, favorite rides etc. You can have a much visibility or none, but anyone in the IA membership group when you make a purchase can instantly see a "IA Rider Map" of every customer, friend or supporter we have had. It will be a way for newwer rider to connect and also seek information in a more sheltered online community. Sure you can decline to set up your profile for ultimate pricacy.

Our Facebook group is Icarus Adventures is for posting daily fun "Adventures" so please join and post away about your rides!
